Questions
The things everybody asks first
If your question is not here, call us. We would rather spend ten minutes on the phone than have you guess.
Flying as a hobby
Do I need any experience to start?+
None at all. Most of our students have never touched the controls of an aircraft before their discovery flight. The syllabus assumes you are starting from zero.
How long does a private license actually take?+
It depends almost entirely on how often you fly. Two lessons a week is the sweet spot: frequent enough that you retain skills between flights, sustainable enough to keep up alongside a job. PLACEHOLDER: add Aspire's typical completion window.
Is there an age limit?+
You can start training at any age, solo at sixteen, and earn a private certificate at seventeen. There is no upper limit as long as you can hold a medical certificate.
Do I need a medical certificate first?+
Not to start. You will need at least a third class medical before your first solo, and we will point you to a local aviation medical examiner well before then.
Flying for a career
How long until I can be hired?+
Most career students reach commercial and CFI in PLACEHOLDER months of full-time training, then instruct while building toward airline hiring minimums. We will map the whole path with dates before you commit.
Can I work while I train?+
Yes, and many of our career students do. It extends the timeline, so we build the schedule honestly around your availability rather than promising a pace you cannot sustain.
Is financing available?+
PLACEHOLDER: list the specific lenders and financing partners Aspire works with, along with typical terms.
Do you hire your own graduates as instructors?+
We consider every CFI graduate for a position with us. Instructing at the school where you trained is the smoothest way to start building hours immediately after your checkride.
Logistics and cost
Why is the total cost a range and not a fixed number?+
Because flight training is billed by the hour and people learn at different rates. What we can promise is a published hourly rate, an honest estimate up front, and a running total you can see at any time.
Do I have to prepay for a block of hours?+
No. PLACEHOLDER: note any optional block-rate discount Aspire offers.
What happens if weather cancels my lesson?+
You are not charged, and we work to rebook you in the same week. Instrument students often convert a weather cancellation into a productive simulator session.
Still deciding
A discovery flight answers more than we can
One hour in the airplane will tell you more about whether this is for you than any amount of reading.
